Exam statistics

AMC / eXamc

For AMC Silver/Bronze exams using a standard scale, results can be analyzed in eXamc.

When outside the EPFL network, connect to the VPN first.

Typical workflow:

1. Sign in to eXamc with your EPFL account.
2. Open the exam from the dashboard.
3. Configure the exam scale.
4. Add the Results & stats module.
5. Import the AMC CSV file.
6. Review global and question-level statistics.
7. Review student grades/results.
8. Once the final scale has been agreed, export the results for the downstream grading workflow.

Question statistics

The migrated documentation describes:

• Upper: responses from the best-performing 27% of students;
• Lower: responses from the lowest-performing 27% of students;
• Discriminatory: difference between Upper and Lower responses. A negative value should prompt a review of the question wording and answer key.

Also compare the list of absent students with the attendance information collected during the exam.
