Correct an exam with Ans

CePro informs the teaching team when the scanned copies are available in Ans for correction.

Reviewers

Send the reviewer email addresses to cepro-exams@epfl.ch so CePro can activate the required reviewer accounts.

See the official Ans documentation on assigning reviewers.

Flags

Reviewers can flag answers when they are unsure how many points to award. The teacher can then review the flagged answer and make the final decision. Flags can be resolved individually or in bulk.

Annotations

Annotations/comments can be visible to students during an online consultation. Ans can export an annotated PDF for an individual student, but the migrated documentation states that annotated PDFs cannot be exported for all students at once.

Multiple-choice answers

If the Ans exam includes MCQs with multiple correct answers, CePro strongly recommends manually checking the detected marks.

See Ans — review ungraded multiple-choice questions.

Results and statistics

After grading, Ans can provide:

  • result CSV files containing student information, points and grades;
  • detailed points per question/criterion;
  • scanned PDFs without correction annotations;
  • annotated PDF export for an individual student;
  • exam statistics and CSV export.
