AMC — Auto Multiple Choice
AMC is free software for preparing and processing paper-based questionnaires. It is mainly used for multiple-choice exams, but it can also include open questions that are graded manually.
CePro provides an AMC environment, templates and scripts to simplify EPFL exam workflows.
What AMC provides

Which workflow should I follow?
AMC Gold
Use the dedicated AMC Gold workflow. CePro takes responsibility for more operational steps, including compilation, personalization, printing coordination, scanning and result delivery.
AMC Silver / Bronze
Typical workflow:
- Connect to the AMC environment and file exchange resources.
- Prepare the exam from the current CePro AMC template.
- Configure the grading scale if required.
- Personalize the papers.
- Send the exam for printing.
- Scan copies when required by your support level.
- Correct/process the exam with AMC.
- Generate annotated PDFs and results.
- Use eXamc for statistics when the exam uses a standard scale.
- Retrieve the paper copies from the Print Center.
Current template
The migrated Moodle documentation states that, since 1 October 2024, exams must be prepared using the current AMC template available on the AMC VDI.
