Prepare an exam for Scan / Build PDFs

You can prepare the exam with LaTeX, Microsoft Word or another authoring system.

First-page QR code​

Place the CePro-provided QR code on the first page of each student's copy. CePro's processing scripts use this code to identify the start of each copy and separate the scanned pages correctly.

Layout requirements​

If you are not using a CePro template:

  • include the QR code on every first page;
  • leave an inside margin of at least 1.5 cm;
  • remember that papers may be printed in booklet format and trimmed before scanning.

Before the exam​

When registering for CePro support, specify whether you want:

  • A — scanning directly after the exam, and whether you need PDF or JPEG files; or
  • B — scanning/rebuilding PDFs after paper correction for archiving.

After the exam, bring the copies to the EPFL Print Center and notify your CePro contact person by email.
